Marilyn Dupnick League

Marilyn’s funeral will be held at St. Francis of Assisi on May 23 at 11:30 am.

Marilyn was born in San Antonio to Ruth (née Ckodre) and Ben Dupnick. She graduated from Churchill High School. On August 11, 1979, she married the love of her life, Edward “Rusty” League.

As a girl she enjoyed camping trips with her parents, and the road trips taken with her family to Big Bend and Colorado Springs cemented her love for the Southwest.

She was a talented artist and created beautiful works of sculpture, paintings, and her favorite modality: ink drawings. Together with her mother and sister Becky, she vended at many craft shows during the 1980s and ‘90s.

Marilyn carefully designed the gardens at each home she lived in. She loved watching hummingbirds from her deck, as they enjoyed the blooms. She and Rusty had several amazing dogs they loved like children, which they would take on vacations to the Coast. Her favorite pastime was enjoying a cold Corona and lime, with sand between her toes, alongside her loved ones - because, as the saying goes: “Life’s A Beach!”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rusty, her parents Ben and Ruth, beloved aunts and uncles, and her precious pups.

Marilyn is survived by her sisters, Rebecca Turnage (Richard) and Patricia Wood (Robert), nephews Nathan Turnage and Brandon Turnage, nieces Deborah Boswell and Jennifer Wood, and her sisters-in-law Kathy (Enyat) Afnani, Theresa League, Margaret (Jamie) Dugan, and Mary League Jensen.

Marilyn’s sweet smile and tender heart will be missed greatly by those that loved her.
