OCIA | Christian Order of Initiation for Adults

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is for:

Adults who have never been baptized and wish to be baptized in the Catholic Church.

Adults who were baptized in another Christian denomination and now wish to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church.

Adults who were baptized Catholic but have not received the Sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation.

Adults who were baptized Catholic and have received First Holy Communion, but have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation, are not candidates for OCIA. These adults may prepare for Confirmation through our Adult Confirmation classes. For more information, please contact Deacon Scott Sowell at AdultConfirmation@sfasat.org.

OCIA Meeting Information OCIA meets on Sunday afternoons from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., following the 11:15 a.m. Mass.

Participants are encouraged to attend the 11:15 a.m. Mass each week. This provides an opportunity to become familiar with our sacred celebration of the Eucharist and to grow comfortable participating in the life and worship of the Catholic community.

Following Mass, the OCIA session meets in the second-floor meeting room of the San Damiano Building, the two-story building located at the entrance to the parish campus from Indian Woods Street.
