Virginia DeGinder

Virginia’s funeral will take place on October 30, 2025 at 11:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi.

Virginia “Ginny” DeGinder passed away 9 September 2025 at the age of 94 in San Antonio, TX.  She was born on 31 May 1931, in Memphis, TN to Erwin and Marguerite Stullken.  She leaves behind her three children, Beth, Carol, and Janie George, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Mama spent most of her life in Austin, TX where she moved to at the age of eight.  She graduated from Austin High School in 1948, and went on to Wellesley College, graduating in 1952.  A few years after college, she married.  She loved being a fulltime homemaker and mother to her three children.  She was their Girl Scout Leader (including Cookie Chairman), and enjoyed camping and sailing.  Mama also enjoyed weaving, knitting, and quilting.  She completed her last quilt when she was 92.  She enjoyed a successful career as a High School librarian in the Austin Independent School District.  

She remarried in 1981, and learned to ski.  She enjoyed camping during the summer in Colorado, exploring the Western United States.  She moved to San Antonio in July 2020.

We miss her, and are so blessed to call her Mama and Grandmama.
