Roger Miller

Roger Dale Miller, 79, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on Thursday, May 14, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed.

Roger was born in Dallas, Texas on November 16, 1946 to Joe Ed and Rudene Miller and was the youngest of four children. He married his college sweetheart, Linda June Miller, in July 1968. While working as an Accounting Manager for Safeway, they lived in Dallas, Houston, Phoenix and Salt Lake City. The family settled down in San Antonio in 1983 where their home has been the nucleus for family life, grand-parenting, the warm presence of spoiled grand-dogs, Texas native gardening and birdwatching.

Roger was a man who wore many hats. For those lucky enough, he dedicated much service from his heart and was always sure to deliver his help with a side of snark. His opinionated opinions? You knew them. Only because he wanted the best for you. Affectionately remembered as "Mr. Fix-It", there was no good slightly-broken treasure that he couldn't repair. There was no obscure object that he couldn't find. And if one had a question, he could be relied upon to help find the answer. He probably even did your income taxes.

He had many interests that he pursued with much zeal. He was a model train enthusiast, record and movie collector, and served as the family genealogist. He was an amateur photographer, curious road-tripper, BBQ lover and zinger of a well-timed inappropriate joke. The experiences and memories he shared will be treasured always.

Roger has been embraced by his son, Joshua, and is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Linda as well as his son, Benjamin and wife Veronica of Abilene, TX; and his grandchildren, Colin and Jackson. He also leaves a brother, George Miller of Mesquite, TX.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 4201 De Zavala Rd. in San Antonio, on Thursday, May 28th at 11:30 am. The family invites all who knew him to attend and fondly celebrate a life well lived.

Please share this memorial with anyone who was touched by the legacy of Roger's life. You may find his online tribute page at Legacy.com to leave a message of condolence or share a favorite memory.
