Jacqueline Nacewski

We will celebrate Jacqueline’s life on Monday January 19, 2026 with viewing and visitation beginning at 10:30 am followed by a Rosary at 11 am. Her Funeral Mass will take place at 11:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi.

Jacquie earned her wings and danced her way into the arms of her beloved husband Richard (Dick) in eternal life. They were married for 40 years beginning in 1953 and epitomized two people in love.

Her long meaningful life was driven by a strong Catholic faith, devotion to family and an empathetic passion and commitment to helping others.

Growing up in New York City during the Depression prepared Jacquie for future challenges. Prior to meeting Dick, she modeled professionally and worked for Singer Sewing Machine Company.

She traveled the world living as a military wife moving from New York to Texas and Louisiana and ultimately to Tokyo Japan in 1961, before settling in San Antonio. Time for family in New York, North Carolina, California, Connecticut, Florida and even discovering distant relatives in Poland and Italy was of paramount importance to her.

Jacquie was very proud of completing her college education at UTSA in 1977 and received her certification as a marriage and family counselor from Saint Mary’s University. Together with Dick, her psychologist husband, they enjoyed both strong professional and marital partnerships.

She was a strong advocate for child abuse prevention and created and chaired the poster contest for years. The Archdiocese of San Antonio and many local churches benefitted from Jacquie’s expertise working with families on life and family challenges and conflict resolution.

Jacquie’s energy, grace and charm and that infectious smile and sparkling eyes illuminated rooms and brought joy, love and laughter and of course dancing to everyone.

A fierce card player and competitive bowler, no challenge was too great for her. She shared her competitive spirit with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husband Dick, her parents Stuart and Josephine and her brother Charles King.

She is survived by her children Richard (Debbie) Nacewski, Jennifer (Jim) Weichert, and Vincent (Susie) Nacewski. “Babcia” as she was known will forever be missed by her seven Grandchildren and eight Great Grandchildren. Jacquie held a special place in her heart for her sister Claudette LaRussell, half brother Michael King, and half sister Beth Mullins and many beloved nieces and nephews.

We are gathering to celebrate the rich tapestry of her life Monday, January 19 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church beginning with visitation at 10:30. Donations to the Discalced Carmelite Monastery in San Antonio.
