Helen Holloran

Helen’s funeral mas will be held at St. Francis of Assisi on March 28, 2025 at 11:30 am.

Helen Weatherford Holloran gently passed away on January 23rd, 2025, at the age of 84. She passed away peacefully and quietly with family by her side. She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Tom Holloran, her two children, Karin Alghamdy and Kevin Holloran, her four grandchildren, Ryan Alghamdy, Zack Alghamdy, Meghan Holloran, and Madison Holloran, and one great-grandchild, Noura Alghamdy.

Helen was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from East Hight School in 1958, and Christian College in Columbia, MO in 1960. She was the oldest of four Weatherford children, including Trudy Weatherford, Ken Weatherford II, and she was preceded in death by her youngest brother, Keith (Andy) Weatherford. Helen had a vibrant childhood filled with cherished memories. She married Tom Holloran in 1962 at Our Lady of Perpetual Hope in Germantown, and enjoyed a successful career as a flight reservationist for Delta Airlines. If you asked Helen what defined her the most, it was being a fulltime homemaker and mother to her two children, always there for them, for which they are forever grateful.

Since 1985, Helen and Tom relocated to San Antonio, TX. Despite living in many cities, the warm climate and wonderful friends they made there, made San Antonio their home. Helen volunteered at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and had a love of entertaining friends and family over the years in San Antonio. In 2023, Helen and Tom moved to Allen, TX, into assisted living in order to be closer to their son and daughter in law, and their two grandchildren.

Tom and Helen traveled extensively in retirement, visiting their daughter and her family in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. They also loved to visit Ireland, cherishing their time exploring the beautiful landscapes and culture.

In her last few months of life, Helen suffered from dementia and challenges she sustained from a series of falls. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Malcolm Weatherford, and her mother, Flora Mai Weatherford. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice supporting either Alzheimer's or dementia, or another charity focused on her love of nature.
