Troop 498 – A Summer of Adventures
This summer has been an extraordinary one for the youth of Scouting America Troop 498! Our Scouts traveled to Camp Rockefeller in Arkansas, sailed and snorkeled in the Florida Keys, earned Advanced Open Water SCUBA certifications while helping restore coral reefs, and represented our parish along with fifteen thousand Scouts at the once-every-four-years National Jamboree—where they celebrated Mass with two bishops, went whitewater rafting, SCUBA diving, and much more. We are also happy to announce our second Eagle Scout this year and the Troop's first female Eagle Scout. Through these high-adventure experiences, our Scouts (boys and girls ages 11–18, plus our Venture Crew for ages 14–21) continue to grow in leadership, service, faith, and character. We are grateful to St. Francis of Assisi for its ongoing support as our charter organization. Visitors and new members are always welcome! We meet Mondays from 7:00–8:30 p.m. at the church. Troop 498 is hosting an Open House on August 31st. For more information, contact Scoutmaster Matthew Emmons or visit our website.
