We are in the process of developing a Liturgical Movement troop, a group of parishioners (of all ages) who would be willing to express their faith through movement. On special occasions and feast days, we hope to train these parishioners to present hand gestures and slow movements which emphasize the meaning of key texts throughout the mass. This may include special presentations for the Procession, Recession, and Responsorial Psalm. Recent examples of the type of ministry we are developing would include the "Mother's Day" presentation by the teens of the movements to David Kauffman's "Behold.", as well as last year's movement to the Psalm for Palm Sunday, "My God, My God." As the troop grows in confidence, we may then train them to present a fifteen minute "Passion Mime" which can be used on ACTS retreats, at prayer gatherings, and may be used for added emphasis to the gospel reading on Passion (Palm) Sunday.
